Edita Kainrathová en

Edita Kainrathová graduated from the Department of Cinematography at FAMU, where she worked with Klára Tasovská (Midnight, 2010) and Martin Jelinek (Entertainment, 2010). After her studies, she made her feature directorial debut Pojedeme k moři / Let´s Go to the Seaside (2014) with Jiří Mádl, which was awarded at several festivals and received the Discovery of the Year award at the Czech Film Critics Awards. At this year’s Mental Power Prague Film Festival 2022, she won the Best Film Award for Olga, můj svět / Olga, My World – a film about a deaf woman who is losing her sight but loves to dance. She collaborated on the film with director Martina Frejová Krátká. Currently, together with director and editor Kateřina Krutská Vrbová, she supports the NIDAR association with spots about trauma and traumatization (one of the topics is also trauma from war conflict): yaknatrauma.eu
