JONATHAN MOMČEV
Jonathan Momčev (2002) is a Czech filmmaker and multimedia artist. After graduating from an art-focused high school, he went on to study at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications in Zlín, where he devoted himself more deeply to cinematography. His early film work is characterized by his ongoing collaboration with director Šimon Lovecký, with whom he shot his short film debut Tančíš sama (You Dance Alone). In 2024, Momčev participated as the main cinematographer in the film Můj rok podzim (My Autumn Year). The film was subsequently released on the iVysílání platform. In the same year, he contributed to the intermedia performance Panta Rhei, which combined elements of physical theater, dance, music, singing, and video art. For this performance, he and Lovecký shot a short film on a Super 8 mm camera, which became an integral part of the performance. As an important visual element, it was projected during the performance and modified in real time. This film is also planned to be released as a separate work. Jonathan concluded his studies with his graduation film Sen o Létě (Dream of Summer), which was selected for the main short film competition at the 66th BRNO16 film festival.
