Ingrid is an experienced doctor working in a hospital in former Czechoslovakia in the mid-1980s. Her life revolves around her work, helping women give birth, performing abortions, and participating in the sterilisation of Roma women, who often do not fully understand the consequences of these procedures. For a long time, Ingrid accepts the established rules without questioning them. However, everything begins to change when she forms a friendship with Agáta, a young hospital assistant. Through her, Ingrid gradually becomes aware of the injustices of the system she lives in and begins to question her previous decisions. The film explores the painful issue of forced sterilisation and women’s right to make decisions about their own lives.
