Maja Dennhag

Maja Dennhag grew up in northern Sweden where she was exposed to the Northern lights and magical hours from early age. As a cinematographer, she started working with light as her main source of inspiration. Her first commercials appeared on TV when she was only 20 years old. Her work is characterized by the balance between a realistic portrayal of light and a space left for imagination – whether it is in a documentary or a live-action film. Her first live-action feature flm The Heart (Hjärtat, 2018) directed by Fanni Metelius was screened in the section Bright Future at this year’s Rotterdam IFF, at the Gothenburg IFF and also at the Febio Fest in the Czech Republic.
