Jakub Jansa

 

Jakub Jansa (*1989) works with film, installation, and organizes performative events. He builds complex environments and situations that convincingly link reality with fiction. His early projects on the themes of social manipulation and self-development (Spiritual Fitness, 2016) have in recent years resulted in an exhibition series called Club of Opportunities (from 2017). Jansa graduated from UMPRUM in Prague (Studio of Supermedia of Federico Díaz and David Kořínek), completed a study internship in New York, and residencies in Switzerland and France. Since 2020, together with Julie Béna, he has been the head of the Performance Studio at FaVU BUT in Brno. He is a recipient of the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize in 2021.
