Julie Žáčková

 

Julie Žáčková is a graduate of the Department of Production at FAMU, and Critical and Cultural Theory at the Department of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. During her studies she completed an internship at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. For several years she was responsible for the dramaturgy and production of the iShorts short film evenings at BIO OKO in Prague. Since 2012 she has been working with the production company Unit and Sofa, where she is currently in charge of film and television projects as a producer. Most recently, she produced the feature debut Okupace/Occupation (dir. Michal Nohejl). She has long been involved in supporting promising young filmmakers, whether through the first Czech-Slovak talent agency NOCHI, which she founded, which focuses on representing cinematographers, or Girls in Film, a London-based platform specializing in presenting the emerging generation of female filmmakers, whose Prague branch she runs.
