Zdena Sýkorová

 

Zdena Sýkorová is from Žďár nad Sázavou. She briefly studied Multimedia in Economic Practice at the University of Economics in Prague, and then transferred to the Department of Cinematography at FAMU, where she is currently studying for her Master’s degree. By the time of the Ostrava Festival Kamera Oko 2021 she will have finished filming a folklore ballad about death with the working title Za polem (Behind the Field), directed by Hanka Neničková. She is engaged in a long-standing collaboration with Elvira Dulskaia, and their last film together, Snezka, won the Best Cinematography award at the 2020 Russian Indie Film Festival. They are currently working on a coming-of-age drama Ice Crack, about a girl on a boys’ hockey team.
