KRYŠTOF MELKA
Cinematographer Kryštof Melka (*1993) is a graduate of the Department of Cinematography at FAMU in Prague. He focuses primarily on feature films, having shot short films such as Hra (directed by Lun Sevnik, SSIFF San Sebastian), Moře mezi námi (directed by Lun Sevnik, Trieste Film Festival) and Rituály (directed by Damián Vondrášek, Czech Lion Award for Best Short Film).He also works on documentary projects, having collaborated on films such as Diana Cam Van Nguyen’s Spolu sami (Together Alone, IFF Rotterdam / BAFTA Finalist) and Milý Tati (Dear Dad, Locarno Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival Short Film Award, Czech Lion for Best Short Film and Best Student Film, European Film Awards nomination).His second feature film, directed by Olmo Omerzu, Ungrateful Creatures, had its world premiere in the main competition at SSIFF San Sebastian, while his first feature film, The Limits of Love (directed by Tomasz Wiński), premiered in the main competition at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.He also shot the television series Pět let (Five Years) for Czech Television with director Damián Vondrášek and four episodes of the series Mozaika (Mosaic) with director Jasmína Blaževič.He has also collaborated on several Live Cinema projects with theater director Petra Tejnorová, artist Jakub Jansa, and advertising directors Jára Moravec and Luboš Rezler.
