MOUSE KLUB KONFIDENTIAL
1976, USA
16′
DOP, dir: James Robert Baker
The shocking life of Buddy Wilson (Ken Camp), a former member of the M*useketeers who became a gay bondage pornographer, is revealed in this UCLA student film by future videographer (Blonde Death) and novelist (Tim & Pete, Boy Wonder) James Robert Baker. Are Wilson and his perverse films merely an exception, or is the “happiest place on earth” more than meets the eye?
The film Mouse Klub Konfidential, which has not been seen since its controversial inclusion in the second annual San Francisco International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival in 1978, is a witty satire on Fred Halsted, America, and a certain cartoon mouse that has long been credited with causing conservative film critic and radio host Michael Medved to abandon his dreams of a film career. And for that, we can all be grateful.
