…and often when discussing and actually teaching film, they talk about unity. The unity of visual style, the unity of space and views, the unity of colours and atmospheres. Perhaps as if the film were metaphorically just one coherent piece of music. But perhaps creativity and new approaches would benefit from looking at a feature film more like a music album. A music album by one artist consisting of different songs and tracks. Each one may have a different rhythm, style, mood, and story, but only together do they form that unique universe… For a modest curatorial selection, I have chosen two images that demonstrate this concept.
