Jana Hojdová completed her studies at FAMU in Prague with a diploma thesis on the Oscar-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson. The contact she has established with the famous collaborator of directors such as Oliver Stone, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and Robert De Niro has given her an unexpectedly open and close insight into the life and working style of this experienced and talented filmmaker. Over the past three years, she has had the opportunity to follow him, for example, while working on Tarantino's film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and spent several months with him in the United States during the pandemic, where she was given access to his personal archive.

She will use the collected materials in her currently forthcoming documentary Camerraman, depicting Richardson as an iconic cinematographer for whom cinematography also serves as a means to overcome his own traumas.

In her interview with Jakub Felcman, Jana will focus on the experience she has gathered while working on the documentary, from which she will present the first excerpts. She will also discuss what her work with a Hollywood cinematographer and her insight into professional studio operations taught her, and how this has influenced her own work with the camera and the medium of film.
