The poetic story Between is a free adaptation of the Eugene Onegin book by Russian writer Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. Young Eugene returns to a place that awakens in him a longing for an old love. Stunned, he enters a surreal world in which the boundary between reality and memory is blurred.
Barbora Kučeríková (25) is a cinematographer and director from northern Slovakia. In 2021 she completed her Master’s degree in cinematography at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. Her work focuses on combining the craft of film with artistic disciplines such as dance, performance, painting, and conceptual art. A typical element of her fiction is the absence of spoken word – which is replaced by a visual dialogue between the character and the world in which one finds him or herself.
