The protagonist of Michal Hogenauer’s feature debut (graduation film Tambylles at Cannes IFF) is a Czech student Mia who decides to work as an au pair in the Netherlands. Wealthy family with on echild, ten-year-old Sebastian, hires her under the conditions of obeying strict and often cruel rules hiding disturbing reality. The film, often compared to Greek Weird Wave or to films of Austrian director Michael Haneke, makes the viewer question human integrity, ethical freedom and morality.
