The 11th annual International film festival Ostrava Kamera Oko takes place in Ostrava and occurs between September 24– 29, 2019 and mainly focuses on cinematography. For the first time it also boldly reflects current metamorphozis of perceiving camera in a world of cinema and motion picture.
From the 1st of July to the 31st of August visitors are able to pay for discounted festival pass through GoOut portal. The pass to whole festival costs 400 CZK. The weekend price is 300 CZK. Discount festival pass for students and and senior citizens costs 250 CZK. For all festival passes visitors are provided with nextbike voucher worth 100 CZK.
The festival pass include a free permit to all screenings during the festival in chosen cinemas in Ostrava, but also to site-specific and accompanying programme in unconventional locations in the region. Festival pass holders are able to enjoy evocative music programme, presentation of Czech and foreign authors or projects of European film schools.
Contesting films are completed with dramaturgic selection of addressed curators, among them Martin Kohout (Laureate of Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2017), Monika Midriaková (Leto s Monikou), Viktor Palák (Radio Wave), Václav Drozd (cultural newspaper A2, Central European Organising Center) and Martin Mazanec (Festival of Film Animation and Contemporary Art).
From 15th of July spectators can purchase festival tickets in friendly places in Ostrava for the same price as through GoOut. There belong Minikino Ostrava, Cineport, Vestibul, PLATO gallery and a design shop Ty Identity. Payment in such places is possible only by cash. Festival tickets that have been purchased will be replaced with valid festival passes in Minikino Ostrava, PLATO and accreditation center which is located near Cineport in Vítkovická 17, 70200 Moravská Ostrava a Přívoz.
This year we offer a cheap accommodation worth 70 CZK a night right next to the accreditation center in Vítkovice. We advise it only to brave spectators who own their sleeping bag, sleeping pad and who are willing to give up their comfort zone for high quality cinema experience.
