OKO WARM–UP

Festival section OKO WARM-UP is a series of exhibitions and installations in public space and related accompanying programs. It aims to present visual artists whose work is often linked to moving pictures, and it focuses on how their approaches to the camera differ. One is a DIY style use of the camera applied by artist and musician Johana Novotná and the television group Estráda in their puppet performances and shows. We may encounter the professional production of art videos in the work of artists Ventýna Janů and Jakub Jansa whose artworks are created, among others, in cooperation with a cinematographer Kryštof Hlůže. Exhibitions and installations that will be on display during August and September stem from thematic backgrounds of this year’s RájPARADISE showing various ways of portraying mythological worlds, and author’s conceptions of situations, associations and memories related to ideas of paradise and the Garden of Eden. Individual works relate to specific audiovisual outputs, which will be part of the festival program.
