The jubilee year of the festival Ostrava Kamera Oko is approaching. Already on 25 September the viewers will have the possibility to enjoy six festival days full of great film experience, presentations, workshops and music.
The ninth annual international film festival takes place from Friday, September 22 to Thursday, September 28, 2017. The festival called Ostrava Kamera Oko focuses on camera work by prominent artists from the Czech Republic and abroad. The central topic of this year’s festival is architecture in movies.

It caters not only for experts in cinematography, but also for the general public. Besides the film projection (including previews) and presentations, this year’s festival also includes masterclass and specialist workshops, exhibitions and evening concerts followed by after-parties.
During 25–30th September, the jubilee year of the International Film Festival Ostrava Kamera Oko is going to be held in Ostrava. By the end of August, discounted festival accreditations can be purchased at the GoOut portal, at the ticket offices of the cooperating traditional cinemas (Minikino, Kino Art) and at the cooperating design shop TY Identity (Poštovní 39/2, 702 00 Moravská Ostrava a Přívoz).
The 14th annual Pecha Kucha Night Olomouc gathering takes place on Friday, June 16. One of the presentations will be given by Ostrava Kamera Oko representatives. The first open air Pecha gathering takes places on Friday, 8 p.m., at the docks of Šmeralova 12.
From September 23 to September 28, Ostrava hosted the 8th annual International film festival Ostrava Kamera Oko. Jonathan Ricquebourg, the cameraman and the winner of the main contest, was awarded the first prize for his cooperation with Albert Serra, the director of the movie called The Death Of Louis XIV. The short movie contest was won by Adam Mach who was awarded for his camera work in the movie called Strach (The Fear).
During 25–30th September 2018 the tenth anniversary year of the International Film Festival Ostrava Kamera Oko with a focus on cinematographic work will take place. The screenings will take place both in the traditional premises of the Ostrava single-room cinemas and in the untraditional places that are going to be gradually revealed.
Sunday, May, 21st, Triple Hall Karolina hosts a Family Cultural Festival called Ostravský kompot. The program consists of musical and theatrical performances and film projection. It also caters for children and includes catering.
